Extra tips:
Luggage: Remember to label you suitcase on both the inside and outside with your home address so if it should get mislaid, someone will know where to send it on. Also, it can help to add a distinctive ribbon or badge to your luggage so it’s easier to spot amongst other similar suitcases.
Documents: Make a copy of all your valuable documents such as passport, visas and travelers check numbers and keep them in your luggage. Also make a copy and give them to someone trustworthy and contactable, in case you lose them then you have someone as a back up.
However, make sure you keep your original travel documents with you in your hand luggage and not your suitcase, in case your suitcase should go missing.
Medication: Remember to bring more than enough of any medication you might need along with you and carry prescriptions for any medications that you carry with you.
